This Privacy Policy, effective March 20, 2018, applies to the websites: www.inflightinstitute.com and www.inflightinnovations.com owned and operated by Inflight Innovations Inc. This Privacy Policy describes how the Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute collects, secures, uses and shares personal information that you provide, as well as any of the human resource data transferred to us for processing in our data base on behalf of our Member Airlines. This Privacy Policy also describes your choices regarding access, correction and use of your personal information. Inflight Institute does not share your personal information with anyone with the exception of potential employers. By completing our application or registering to any Inflight Institute on-line flight attendant training course(s), you have acknowledged and have expressly agreed that the Inflight Institute may provide Member Airlines access to your personal details including exam results. Our Member airlines, via the Inflight Institute database, may choose to call you and ask you for additional information and potentially an interview. In addition, Member Airlines may ask Inflight Institute staff members for their opinion on potential candidates; based on their dealings (via telephone, online chat or email).

Inflight Institute staff members will provide their opinion to the member airline and are encouraged to deliver their opinion on the suitability of that candidate based on the airlines hiring requirements.

Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute are responsible for the processing of personal data it receives and subsequently the transfer of such information to our Member Airlines. Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute comply with the Privacy Shield Principles for all onward transfers of personal data from the EU and Switzerland.

Any personal data received and/or transferred is pursuant to the Privacy Shield Framework but also in certain situations, Inflight Institute and/or Inflight Innovations may be required to disclose the personal data collected in response to lawful requests made by public authorities, including and not limited to meeting national security or law enforcement requirements.

In true compliance with the Privacy Shield Principles, Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute will commit to resolve any complaints about our collection or use of your personal information. EU and Swiss individuals with inquiries or complaints regarding our Privacy Shield policy should first contact Inflight Innovations or the Inflight Institute at: info@inflightinstitute.com

Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute may collect the following personal information from you:

  • Contact Information, such as name, mailing address, phone number, mobile number and email address.
  • Demographic Information, such as age, education, gender, height, weight, spoken and written language, swimming level and zip/postal code.
  • Billing Information, such as billing address.
  • Unique Identifiers, such as username, user id, password and completion number.
  • Geo location based on IP address.

We do not ask for or store your credit card information on our server. Credit card number collection is via a secure, brand name, banking service of the highest quality, (a secure online payment gateway located in North America). All Inflight Institute courses are delivery via the internet by way of this site.

We also collect your personal information such as name and email address where we can send the receipts of your purchases. When you provide us with such personal information we will only use this information for the specific reason for which it is provided.

As is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically. This information may include Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the pages viewed on our site and within any course you are completing (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), browser type, operating system, date/time stamp and/or clickstream data to analyze trends in the aggregate and administer the site.

Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute use cookies or similar technologies to analyze trends, administer the website, track users’ movements around the website, and to gather demographic information about our data base as a whole. You can as a user control the use of cookies at the individual browser level, however if you choose to disable cookies, it may limit your use of certain features or functions on our website or service.

All the personal information as indicated being collected above is used for billing, identification, authentication, service improvement, research and contact.

We may share your information with our Member Airlines for instance, for the purpose of employment. If you do not want us to share your personal information with our Member Airlines, please contact us at: info@inflightinstitute.com

We also may share your information with third parties who provide services on our behalf to help with our business activities. These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us, to which these services may include:

  • Payment processing
  • Providing customer service
  • Sending market communications
  • Conduction research and analysis
  • Providing cloud computing infrastructure

In certain situations, Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute may be required to disclose personal data in response to lawful requests by public authorities, including, to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. We may also have to disclose your personal information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or other legal process, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, when we believe there is a violation to our Terms and Conditions, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request. If Inflight Innovations or the Inflight Institute are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or prominent notice on our website, of any change in ownership, uses of your personal information, and choices you may have regarding your personal information. We do not sell, rent or share personal information with third parties without your prior consent.

The security of your personal information is important to us. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once it is received. Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute ensure that all source code, files and data remain private and confidential. Due to the sensitive nature of source code we take this very seriously and make it our primary concern for all of our customers. We restrict access to personal information to Inflight Institute employees, contractors and Member Airlines who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our service. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute servers are provided by XM Media Inc. and hosted at the DigitalOcean datacenter TOR1 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The website/database/etc; are all on the same server. The backups are stored offsite.

Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute added protection with our servers with a firewall external to the server plus a firewall on the server. Direct root access to the server is disabled. MySQL has been locked down and access to the Inflight database is only available to root and the Inflight user. We have monitoring setup on the server to detect unauthorized/atypical access to the server. Any sort of breach will notify the people we have in place to deal with the situation immediately.

We may retain your information for as long as your account is active, in our database or as needed to provide you services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

Upon request Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute will provide you with information about whether we hold any of your personal information. You may access, correct or request deletion of your personal information by logging into your account or by contacting us at: info@inflightinstitute.com. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe. In certain circumstances we may be required by law to retain your personal information, or may need to retain your personal information in order to continue providing a service.

Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute, acknowledges that you have the right to access your personal information. Inflight Innovations and the Inflight Institute have no direct relationship with the individuals whose personal data is processes. An individual who seeks access, or who seeks to correct, amend, or delete inaccurate data should direct their query to: info@inflightinstitute.com. If requested to remove data we will respond within a reasonable timeframe. In certain circumstances we may be required by law to retain your personal information, or may need to retain your personal information in order to continue providing a service.

Registering in a course conducted online by the Inflight Institute and by accessing the Inflight Institute web site, you agree, without limitation or qualification, to be bound by these terms and conditions and such other additional or alternative terms, conditions, rules and policies which are displayed or to which you may be directed in connection with Inflight Institute, as all of the same may be modified by Inflight Institute from time to time (collectively the "Terms and Conditions"), You should visit this web page periodically to review the Terms of Conditions that govern your transactions and are binding on you. You acknowledge, understand, and agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions of Use:

The course materials, including without limitation, the notes, exams, organization, web site layout and other documentation are subject to copyright, with all associated rights owned by Inflight Innovations Inc.®™. You should assume everything you see or read on this site is copyrighted unless otherwise noted. You are prohibited from reproducing the course materials, in whole or in part, without the express written consent of Inflight Innovations Inc.®TM. Therefore ALL Inflight Institute students are limited in the number of pages they may print (30 pages maximum) for certificate courses.

  1. Permitted and Prohibited Uses

    The Inflight Institute is intended for the lawful use of its members. Subject to these Terms and Conditions, Inflight Institute grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right to access, use and view this site and the information thereon, including without limitation, all text, design, graphics, drawings, photographs, video clips, music and sounds, and all trade mark’s, and trade names used at this site and the selection and arrangements thereof (collectively, the "Content"), solely for your own personal use, provided, however, that you may not, nor may you allow others to, directly or indirectly:

    1. sell, license, rent, reproduce, modify or attempt to modify or create derivative works from the content in any way or reproduce or publicly display, perform, transmit or distribute or otherwise use the content for any public or commercial purpose, including without limitation use of the content on any other web site or in any environment of networked computers;
    2. transfer the content to any other person without the prior written explicit consent of Inflight Institute;
    3. use this site in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden or impair this site;

    6. infringe on any patent, trade-mark, trade secret, copyright, right of publicity, or other proprietary right of any person, or impersonate any person or entity;
    7. disrupt or interfere with any other person's use or enjoyment of this site or associated or linked sites;
    8. use any robot, spider or other automatic program or device, or manual process to monitor, copy, summarize, or otherwise extract information from this site or the content in whole or in part;
    9. use or attempt to use another's account, password, service, system or other information without prior written authorization from Inflight Institute, or create or use a false identity on this site;
    10. transmit on, to or from this site spam, chain letters, junk mail or any other type of unsolicited mass e-mail;
    11. upload to, distribute to, or otherwise disseminate through this site any material or information of any kind that is threatening, harassing, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or otherwise violates any law or infringes or violates any rights of any other person or entity, or contains a solicitation of funds, advertising, or a solicitation for goods or services; or
    12. attempt to obtain unauthorized access to this site or portions of this site which are restricted from general access.

    You also agree that you are solely responsible for actions and communications undertaken or transmitted in the course of your usage of this site, and that you will comply with all laws that apply or may apply to your use of or activities on this site or in respect of the content.

  2. General Students

    1. You agree to provide accurate and current information about yourself as required by the relevant registration process, and to promptly update such information as necessary to ensure that it is kept accurate and complete. You agree to be responsible for:
      1. maintaining the confidentiality of any passwords or other account identifiers which you choose or are assigned as a result of any registration over the Inflight Institute, and
      2. all activities that occur under such password or account. Further, you agree to notify Inflight Institute of any unauthorized use of your password or account. Inflight Institute shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, in any way for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of, or in connection with, your failure to comply with this. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
    2. Once you have registered and have been accepted as a Student, you have 18 months from the date of purchase to begin the course or 1 year from the date you start the course in which to complete the course in which you are registered. If you fail to complete the course within that period of time, your student identification number will be deactivated and your right to access to the course materials will be terminated.
    3. Upon course completion your access to the completed course is suspended and your completed user information is visible to member airlines.
    4. Upon completion of a certificate program a certificate of completion will be emailed to the email address listed on your profile. You have the option to purchase a printed copy of your certificate, and if you wish to do so, a certificate will be mailed out to you in 4 to 6 weeks from the date of purchase. We have no control over the postal service once the certificate leaves our office. However, airlines may still retrieve your data at any time.
    5. Inflight Institute reserves the right to restrict, change, suspend or terminate your account by any means if your access, use or connection to the Inflight Institute is impairing or adversely affecting our operation or the use of our services by others.
    6. To insure the integrity of the course is not compromised a limit of 50 failures has been placed on exams within each course. If you reach this number of failures we regret that your course will be marked "Failed" and disabled from being worked on.
  3. Registration fees paid by you are non-refundable. You acknowledge and agree that the prices of the courses are subject to change without notice. Inflight Institute, in its sole discretion, shall have the right, at any time after receipt of your course order, to decline your course order for any reason. In the event that the courses are listed at an incorrect price, due to a typographical error or an error in pricing information, Inflight Institute, in its sole discretion, shall have the right at any time after receipt of your course order, to decline your course order.
    1. It is the Student's responsibility to have regular access to a computer with a reliable internet connection throughout the duration of the course. You are responsible in making sure you have a reliable internet connection in which to conduct the course. Using an unreliable connection may result in you being logged out and if in the middle of the exam the question you are on may be marked as not answered and in essence have a direct result in your final score. Computers should be no older than 10 years old or the Student takes the risk of not having an up to date computer to complete the course. We require a minimum of a 56k modem. Students must ensure that they upgrade their computer Operating System on a regular basis to have all the updates needed to proceed with the course. We require the latest Adobe Flash Player in order to view all the media files. We require a sound card with speakers or headphones to listen to various media files. We also require Adobe Reader to view PDF documents. It is not the responsibility of the Inflight Institute if your computer does not meet these requirements and/or is not functioning. it is the Student who must ensure that they have access to a reliable computer. The minimum hardware requirements listed here are subject to change without notice based on rapidly changing standards and continuous development within the technology industries.
  4. Courses offered by the Inflight Institute are based upon existing Aviation Regulations. While every reasonable effort has been made to maintain the currency of the course materials, the Inflight Institute does not represent or warrant that such course materials are complete or exhaustive. In accepting these Course Policies and Conditions of Use, You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Inflight Institute - Inflight Innovations Inc.®TM and its officials, directors, officers, shareholders, employees, contractors and authorized representatives from and against any liability, demand, action, cost, expense, or claim of any kind, including but not limited to lawyer's fees, relating in any way to your use of the contents, products or services that may be associated with the course materials and/or errors contained within such course materials provided by Inflight Institute.
  5. While the course materials are used by airlines and aviation companies, your completion of any or all of the courses offered by the Inflight Institute does not guarantee that any of these companies will offer you a position with their company. If you decide to access or use any linked website or content, goods or services from a website linked to Inflight Institute, you do so entirely at your own risk.
  6. While the Inflight Institute takes every reasonable precaution to ensure that its courses are electronically accessible for your use 24 hours per day, the web site and all content is provided as is. By accessing and using the web site you acknowledge and agree that use of the web site and the content is entirely at your own risk. You agree that no representations or warranties are offered to you in this regard. You further agree that the Inflight Institute is not responsible, in any manner, for any loss of data or information that you may incur as a result of your accessing the course materials.
  7. Privacy and Delivery Policies

    The Inflight Institute logs http requests to our server. These logs capture computer information, navigation and clickstream data. Some of the information collected does not identify who you are. Other information, such as your domain name or IP address, may identify you depending on the naming standards followed by your Internet service provider. You may wish to ask them about their policies and practices. While we make no attempt to link the information captured to the identity of individuals, the information captured does identify the following:

    1. The Internet domain and IP address from which you access our web site;
    2. The type of browser and operating system used to access our site;
    3. Screen resolution of your monitor;
    4. The date and time you access our site;
    5. The pages you visit; and
    6. If you linked to the Inflight Institute web site from another web site, the address of that web site. This information is used to help us make our site more useful to our audiences by learning about the number of visitors to our site, and by monitoring traffic patterns and the types of technology our visitors use. We do not track or record information about specific individuals and their visits. Visitor information is not disclosed to anyone except Inflight Institute personnel who need the information for legitimate business purposes such as responding to a request.

When you link to an outside website, you are leaving the Inflight Institute site and our Terms and Conditions policies no longer apply.

    We reserve the right to refuse to accept you for courses if you fail to comply with any of these terms and conditions or your actions give us reasonable grounds to believe that you may fail to do so in the future.
